Gold Panning can be a great recreational activity for the whole family to enjoy. Unlike gold detecting which takes much concentration, panning can be much more relaxing and less intensive. Gold Panning especially will be less expensive than gold detecting.

The essential tools you need to start gold detecting are a shovel or spade, a bottle to put your gold in and of course a pan used to find the gold. Gold panning isn’t hard to do to and there are plenty of books that will teach you the best techniques for panning gold. Before you head off gold panning make sure you find out about the local laws on where you can and can’t gold pan. Some states require you to have a licence to look for gold which will only cost you a small fee.
